This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

WP UGC Comments

Description

Adds the rel=โ€ugcโ€ attribute value to links in comments and author URLs. This way the search engines will know that the links in the are added by users (User Generated Content).

Currently the plugins adds the value ugc after the nofollow value. Not all SEO tools and search engines are up-to-date and actively supporting the new attribute values.

This plugin won’t get further updates as WordPress 5.3 has the exact same attribute values implemented (nofollow, ugc).

Installation

  1. Copy all the files into the โ€œwp-content/plugins/wp-ugc-comments/โ€ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin in the WordPress Plugin Admin panel.

FAQ

Does it only works with Links in Comments?

Links in Comments and Comment Author links are processed with rel=โ€nofollow ugcโ€ tag.

Why does the plugin still show the nofollow before the ugc?
