Was looking probably a little too long for it but does it’s job and is compact enough

I feel this functionality should be in the core, like Joomla, etc. But since it isn’t – I installed Gtuk. Just click β€œActivate” and you have a new option in your posts/pages edit screen. Set your unpublish date and forget it. Nice! I’ve got a ton of other plugins and am using a theme from ElegantThemes and no conflicts or problems. Thanks for this much-needed plugin!

Works as expected. Tested with a custom post type. Reverts back to draft at appointed time like a charm.
