## Description

Cuerda-Feed-total is a plugin for media organizations that generates and manages
RSS/XML and other distribution data in accordance with the specifications of news
distribution destinations such as Yahoo! News, LINE NEWS, SmartNews, and Gunosy.

Publishing, updates, and withdrawals are automatically reflected in the data for
each distribution destination. Distribution can be configured by category, tag,
author, or individual post, reducing the need to develop separate RSS/XML feeds
and distribution processes for each destination.

Installing this plugin alone does not start distribution to any media service. Before
use, you must complete the required contract and review process with the intended
distribution destination and obtain its distribution specifications.

[View features and pricing for external distribution](https://cuerda.org/plugin/)

To try features for external distribution destinations, first apply for a free trial
license:
 [Apply for a free trial](https://cuerda.org/trial_form/)

After we review your application, we will issue a trial license and send you a guidance

## FAQ

### How do I start using the plugin?

1) Install and activate the plugin.
 2) To try features for external distribution
destinations, [Apply for a free trial](https://cuerda.org/trial_form/) 3) After
we review your application, we will issue a trial license (usually within 1–3 business
days).

RSS 2.0 feed generation is available without applying for a trial license.

### What information is required for the trial application?

 * Contact email address
 * Production site URL (domain)
 * Optional: One development environment URL (domain)

### What information is required for the paid application?

 * Production site URL (domain)
 * Billing information for invoice delivery (company name, address, phone number,
   invoice PDF email, etc.)
 * Optional: One development environment URL (domain)

### Why is an application required?

It authorizes license validation for the specified domain and enables access to
the external Cuerda management server.
This is required to use Cuerda-Feed-total’s
features for licensed external distribution destinations.

### Is this plugin paid?

RSS 2.0 feed generation is available without a license and can be used continuously.

A corresponding paid license is required to continue using features for external
distribution destinations such as Yahoo! News, LINE NEWS, SmartNews, and Gunosy
after the free trial ends.

### Can I use it for free?

Yes. The trial license is free until the end of the month following the license
issue date (JST 23:59:59).
After that, features for external distribution destinations
require the corresponding paid license. RSS 2.0 feed generation remains available
without a license.

### When does billing start?

Billing start depends on when the paid license is activated:
 – If activated during
the trial period: billing starts at 0:00 (JST) on the day after the trial ends. –
If activated after the trial has ended: billing starts on the activation date (restart
date). The first month may be prorated.

### How is the license fee calculated?

The license fee is JPY 10,000 per month (tax excluded) per production domain.
 Billing
is monthly in arrears (month-end closing, payment due by the end of the following
month). Bank transfer and credit card are accepted.

### Can I use it on a non-public development environment?

Yes. One development environment domain can be used for free while the production
license remains active.
The development site must be access-restricted (e.g., IP
restriction or Basic Authentication).

If you push content to external partners from the development environment, use only
the partner’s designated test FTP accounts and Cuerda pre-verification FTP accounts(
do not use production FTP accounts).

### What happens when the trial ends or the license becomes inactive?

Features for external distribution destinations such as Yahoo! News, LINE NEWS,
SmartNews, and Gunosy will require the corresponding license. RSS 2.0 feed generation
remains available without a license.
You can still access the admin settings screens
to check the license status and review configuration.

### Can I use it for a short period or cancel midway?

Yes. Mid-term cancellation is possible by notifying us via email.
 The license fee
for the cancellation month may be prorated depending on the contract status and
billing start date.

### Is communication with an external server required for license validation?

Yes. The plugin communicates with the external Cuerda license management server
to obtain license information for the registered domain.

### What information is sent for license validation?

The WordPress site’s host name is sent to the Cuerda license management server.
Standard network information, such as the source IP address and HTTP headers, is
also available to the server as part of the communication.

Post content, WordPress user credentials, passwords, license keys, and authentication
tokens are not sent for license validation.

### Is license verification information stored in WordPress?

Yes. The plugin stores the information required to verify the site’s license and
its latest communication status in the WordPress database.

Post content, passwords, license keys, authentication tokens, and the original response
received from the license management server are not stored as part of this information.

The stored plugin data is removed when the plugin is uninstalled.
